European Getaway: One Carry-On. All Style.

The Packing Mindset
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I just got back from Italy. Packing light doesn’t mean sacrificing style. It means knowing what works, what travels well, and what actually gets worn. This isn’t a checklist—it’s a method. One carry-on, edited with intention, built for real movement: from plane to pavement, café to coastline. I travel with just a carry-on and a tote bag. Always.
The Fashion Formula
Before I pack, I need to know two things:
-
What am I doing?
-
What’s the weather?
In Rome, I knew it would be HOT and I’d be walking everywhere. I didn’t want sneakers (too warm), so comfortable shoes were key. I’d be sweating, covered in sunscreen (such a delicate flower), so I packed clothes that wouldn’t show sweat or get ruined by product. During the day, I wore layers—lightweight slip dresses and sheer long sleeves to prevent sunburn without adding bulk. At night (solo traveler here), I wanted easy outfits that didn’t need another pair of shoes: think a pretty skirt and tank or another dress.
Check out the packing list of looks and finds that will work for your next trip at the end of the post.
Fabrics & Fit for the Flight
Let’s talk travel day. Your flight outfit should work hard—breathable, comfortable, and ready to step into vacation. For spring/summer, I skip dresses and opt for pants and a top. Less fussy, more functional. My go-to? Linen drawstring pants, a tank, and a light knit cardigan. Always chic. Always cozy.
The Carry-On Edit
Here’s what I’ve learned after years of travel: overpacking is unnecessary. When you pack intentionally, you can wear the same pieces multiple ways. I roll my clothes to save space and reduce wrinkles, and I bring an expandable tote that still fits under the seat in front of me—even when full.
And remember: you won’t miss that extra pair of shoes—because you’ll probably buy a new pair while you’re away (and have space to bring them back).

But, remember to window shop all you want but don't put in your cart until you are ready to purchase because this link expires after 6 hours of items being in the cart. click below: https://hueandstripe.com/catalog/2461H-SgfES5yVB
