Why I'm Moving to Portugal - And, What's Changing at Dreams & Chaos
There are moments when life quietly asks you to choose differently.
Not louder.
Not faster.
Just… more intentionally.
For me, that moment has led to a move to Portugal.
This decision didn’t come from a desire to escape anything, but from a desire to edit — my life, my pace, my wardrobe, and the way I show up in my work and in my life. And as I prepare for this next chapter, it feels important to share not just where I’m going, but how Dreams & Chaos is evolving along with me.
Because if you’re here — reading, following, shopping, or considering working with me — I want you to really know me. Trust matters.
Why Portugal, Why Now
Portugal represents many of the values I’ve grown into over time: simplicity, beauty, walkability, history, and a sense that life doesn’t need to be overcomplicated to be deeply rich.
I’m not chasing a fantasy version of Europe. I’m choosing to build a life I want to live every day — intentional, edited, and unhurried. A life that feels less like something I visit on vacation, and more like something I live. This move isn’t impulsive; it’s an intentional step into my third act.
And interestingly, that mirrors how my relationship with fashion has evolved, too.

What This Move Has Taught Me About Style
Moving abroad forces discernment.
I edited my closet by more than sixty percent — not out of minimalism, but out of intention. What remained had to earn its place, working for the life I’m building rather than the one I’m leaving behind.
Much of what didn’t make the cut was sold. Goodbye to vintage Chanel, Dries, Ann D — pieces I’ve loved for decades. But some of the pieces were sent to friends, each accompanied by a handmade, handwritten card — memories shared, inside jokes, moments that only belong to us, and why each piece mattered. I told them why that particular piece was theirs, or why I wanted them to borrow it and keep it close until they come visit me in Portugal.
When they do, they’ll bring those pieces back with them. Style, like friendship, doesn’t have to be owned to be meaningful — it just has to be lived with intention.

Over the years, I’ve learned that great style isn’t about trends, rules, or age — it’s about understanding what works forever, what feels relevant now, and what simply isn’t worth your energy.
That philosophy is at the heart of everything I do at Dreams & Chaos.
Chic. Intentional. Modern.
If I had to distill my approach to style into three words, these would be them:
Chic — timeless, confident, never trying too hard
Intentional — chosen with care, edited with purpose
Modern — current, not trendy; relevant, not reactive
This framework guides how I dress, how I shop, and how I help others define their personal style.
It’s also the lens through which Dreams & Chaos is moving forward.

What’s Changing at Dreams & Chaos
Going forward, Dreams & Chaos will be a space for deeper conversations — not just about what to wear, but why it matters.
-
Why finding your personal style changes how you feel in your body and in the world
-
Honest conversations about being a woman — our evolving bodies, shifting lives, and changing needs
-
Cool, wearable outfits and accessories, with context — why I choose what I choose and how I mix high and low
-
How to spot the needle in the haystack — finding pieces that feel special, last, and actually get worn
-
My own perspective, shaped by age, experience, movement, and a life lived well
What you won’t find here:
-
Trend overload
-
Fast fashion chaos
-
Fashion rules based on age, body type, or trends
This space is about taste, confidence, and choosing well.

A Practical Example: Why Boots Matter
As I prepare for this move, one thing became very clear: if I had to build a wardrobe that works anywhere — cities, travel, everyday life — boots are non-negotiable.
They ground an outfit.
They balance comfort and edge.
They last.
I’ve put together a shoppable board of the boot styles I rely on — pieces that reflect a chic, intentional, modern wardrobe and work across seasons, lifestyles, and borders.

This Is a Conversation, Not a Broadcast
Dreams & Chaos is less about telling you what to wear — and more about helping you understand how to choose.
If you’re navigating a shift of your own — in style, life, or perspective — I hope you’ll find inspiration, clarity, and a sense of ease here.
Thank you for being part of what comes next.
We’re just getting started.
